  1. WOW ! What awesome information in GREAT presentation (blog!) !! Thank you! I am pinning, and I am posting to facebook this afternoon when I have time to tag people!

  2. A Husband Wants His Wife to Believe He is Capable! Yes! sometimes by asking a question husbands feel we are challenging their abilities. This is an area that I struggle with. I mostly just want to know why because I like to know why but when he feels undermined that is a challenge.

    Thoughts on that?

I guess it tends to depend upon what you are wanting to know why about. Is there a way to ask, “Could you teach me….?” or “I would have never thought to do it that way” (said in a kind tone!) I hope that helps a bit! Thank you for reading and commenting! God bless!

  3. I’ve seen so many marriages where the men are harming their wives sexually to the point of permanent medical damage. I wonder how these women are supposed to respect their husbands when the men are worldly and selfish. They say they are Christians, and they blink with innocence while damaging their wives. It’s so sad… And the people in spiritual authority yawn and turn their heads, completely unconcerned. Some day God will bring them all to justice. But I wish the men would go ahead and repent so they don’t have to face the wrath of God, “Depart from Me, men who practice lawlessness.”

Abuse is never okay! I have worked with women in these situations and their safety becomes primary. Everything I wrote goes completely out the window if there is abuse involved. A man who willingly harms his wife is not a Godly man. Thank you for commenting and God bless the women you wrote about.

  4. Thank you for giving attention to this topic. No matter how often we hear men and woman are different, it bears repeating until we really get it. Many marriages are suffering because we ( man/woman) are not able to fully comprehend or accept those differences.
    Great blog post! Love it!!

It is hard for people to take on the perspective of others, especially when emotions are involved. It takes intention and effort. Thank you for reading and commenting! God bless!

  5. I really liked this book. I thought it dealt with some fundamental relationship needs for men and women really clearly. I have found that being careful to treat my husband with respect has not only made our marriage better but provided a framework for our kids. My daughter use our relationship as a standard which is the best compliment ever.

That is a beautiful compliment and one I hope to receive someday by my children as well. The concept of respect can be a touchy subject. Thank you for reading and commenting! God bless!

You are so right Andrea! With the addition of needing to understand how our spouse best desires to be treated. Thank you for reading and commenting! God bless!

  6. Such great reminders! I remember reading the book Love and Respect early in our marriage. After 10 years you’d think if be an expert, but I’m not! I’m still learning how best to show respect to my husband. Thankful for God’s grace through it all!

It’s hard to be an expert in doing life! The fact that you are still learning means you are still trying. I’m sure your husband sees that! Thank you for reading and commenting. God bless!

  7. Great post, well presented. Makes me want to print it out to read it again later! Showing respect to my husband is something I try to do daily as he is my rock and I want him to know that not only by my words but in my actions as well. If you have a PDF of this post, I’d love a copy!
