Assurance is a positive declaration intended to give confidence; a promise.
As parents we offer assurance to our children. Assurance that we will provide for them, that they are safe, and that we love them. We give them assurance that they are capable and worthy.
All our children have to do is believe and have faith in us, as their parents.
Isn’t this true with our Heavenly Father?
He offers us assurances time and time again with His blessings, intercessions, and timing that is beyond perfect. Our Father assures us that He will provide for us, keep us safe, and love us. God gives us assurance that we are capable and worthy.
All we have to do, as children of God, is believe Him and have faith.
But what’s more is that our Heavenly Father gives us the assurance of our salvation!
Something that we as parents are not able to give our children. None of us can force someone to salvation but we can support and guide our children and others to understand the love of our Lord that he had Jesus die for our sins so that we could have eternal life!
Take the time to read the below bible scriptures and truly focus on what they are saying to you. Some passages may touch you differently than others. Writing down the verses in your own hand is helpful for some individuals. Possibly looking up the verses in your own bible may be beneficial. I use a NIV bible translation. Or reading them over and over to commit to memory. Whatever method works best for you to experience God’s words and feel closer to Him.
1 Peter 1:3-5
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into tan inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade – kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’ power until the coming of salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Job 19: 25-27
I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes – I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
Romans 8:16-17
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
1 John 4:13-16
We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
1 John 5:13
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
2 Timothy 1:8-9
So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
1 John 3:1-3
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.
If these scriptures have touched you and lead you to ask Jesus into your heart here is a simple prayer for you to say:
For Romans 10:9-10 says that “if you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
I sincerely pray that these verses meet you where you are today and that you have taken the step to put your faith and love in Jesus Christ.

1 John 3:1-3! I love this scripture. Especially in low times, where my confidence lacks! I love the assurance in times where I don’t know my worth, path, future! When I can be assured, I can properly assure my children, and give them the keys to the same assurance in Christ!

It is such a domino effect isn’t it?! When we don’t feel confident in our worth as creations in God’s image it can break down all other aspects of our lives! Thank you for reading and commenting! God bless!

So many children grow up in homes where they do not feel safe or loved, and many Christian marriages are the same. It’s hard for these people to understand that God will keep them safe when that is not their experience. However, God (unlike people who are sinning) is good and will reward them for their senseless suffering and will give them deep character.
melissa
I wholeheartedly agree. I always appreciate your comments and insight! God bless!
