About Melissa

Hi, I’m Melissa.

Professionally

I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2009.  I work with children, families, and marriages to reduce distress and, if they are willing, help them get to know God better.

My areas of therapy experience have included anxiety and depression, self-esteem/self-worth issues, trauma, marital issues, attachment disorders, parent education, and grief.

I have more recently transitioned to Life Coaching and founded Forward Path. What’s the difference? A therapist addresses and helps heal wounds, pain, and trauma that manifest as mental health issues/illnesses/disorders. A life coach helps a person increase their potential in various areas of their life as a guide, mentor, and encourager.

The blog is here to provide practical, easy-to-implement Christian living and wellness tips. Because, while information, in theory, is excellent, it is when a useful application is applied that people can make changes.

I apply those same principles as a speaker and author.

Personally

I am the wife of a fantastic husband and a mom of two pretty neat kids. I truly feel like God has blessed me more than I can express!

My Achilles heel was anxiety, self-doubt, and fighting against the belief that my work was what gave me my worth. God has shown me who He believes I am. That understanding has created humble confidence to be more like he designed me to be.

Statement of Faith

…But with God, all things are possible! (Matthew 19:26 NIV)

I believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. And it is through Jesus Christ alone, because of His death and resurrection, that we have salvation.

While not every one of my posts may mention God, it is through His biblical teachings and principles that I draw my information and advice.

I pray that you find the content of Humble Faith Family Wellness informative, thought-provoking, and encouraging!

Thank you!
