Hi, I’m Melissa.
Professionally
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor having worked in the mental health field for ten years. I work with children, families, and marriages to decrease distress and hopefully get to know God better. But my clients come from all walks of life and are on various paths in their pursuit to know Jesus.
My areas of therapy experience include anxiety and depression, self-esteem/self-worth issues, trauma, marital issues, attachment disorders, parent education, and grief.
A little less than a year ago, I felt God lead me to start this blog to share with you Christian living and wellness tips that are practical and easy to implement. Because, while information, in theory, is great, it is when a practical application is applied that people can make changes.
So my prayer for Humble Faith Family Wellness is that it meets you exactly where you are! As everyone has their unique pasts and issues to overcome.
Personally
I am also the wife of a fantastic husband and a mom of two pretty neat kids. My husband is a stay-at-home daddy to homeschool our kids. I know, right?!
I truly feel like God has blessed me more than I can express!
And I am also navigating this messy world, too!
My Achilles heel is anxiety, self-doubt, and fighting against the belief that my works are what give me my worth. Each of these are areas that I have to work through continually.
Statement of Faith
…But with God all things are possible! (Matthew 19:26 NIV)
I believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. And it is through Jesus Christ alone, because of His death and resurrection, that we have salvation.
While not every one of my posts may mention God, it is through His biblical teachings and principles that my information and advice are drawn.
I pray that you find the content of Humble Faith Family Wellness informative, thought-provoking, and encouraging!
Thank you!
