On this Thanksgiving week, let us be reminded of all that we are in Christ Jesus! We are children of God and that, dear friends, is enough!
But our God is also bountiful in His love and He delights in us. God has provided for us above and beyond what we deserve.
I love Merriam-Webster’s definition of thankful. Conscious of benefit received!
I pray we can all agree that we have received great benefit from God in His willingness to sacrifice His Son for our salvation.
John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Let us allow this week to be a starting point in intentionally thanking God in all situations.
Take the time to read the below bible scriptures and truly focus on what they are saying to you. Some passages may touch you differently than others. Writing down the verses in your own hand is helpful for some individuals. Possibly looking up the verses in your own bible may be beneficial. I use a NIV bible translation. Or reading them over and over to commit to memory. Whatever method works best for you to experience God’s words and feel closer to Him.
Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Psalm 69:30
Colossians 3:15-16
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Colossians 4:2
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
Hebrews 12:28-29
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”
Psalm 100:4
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Psalm 95:2
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
2 Corinthians 9:11
You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
1 Chronicles 16:34
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Psalm 7:17
I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
Dear friends, I pray that these verses speak to you and remind you of your blessings through Christ alone!
God bless!
