Book Review: Don’t Go Through Life Naked – How to clothe yourself in God’s Power by Susan B. Mead
I had the privilege of helping Susan launch her newest book, Don’t Go Through Life Naked, which just released on Amazon, January 23rd.
With over 2 million airline miles under her belt, an MBA hanging on the wall, and two Readers Choice Awards on her shelf from the 2016 Christian Literary Awards, Susan B Mead shares her expert teachings on business, grief and relationships. A master storyteller and award winning author, Susan leaves audiences motivated to live a life free of regrets. She has been described as a solid, comforting voice in a messy world. Susan is also the author of Dance With Jesus: From Grief to Grace.
Don’t go through life naked
Susan writes with clarity and humor. It’s a short read but don’t mistake the length for lack of substance. She provides rich bible verses to educate and remind the readers of the very real spiritual attacks we are experiencing on a day to day basis.
The book provides background information on the fall of Lucifer and his desire for us. To steal, kill, and destroy. Us. Susan describes his mission as to steal our identity in Christ. To kill our hope in God. And to destroy our God-given destiny.
Thank goodness we can be confident that God wins in the end!
And Susan provides step by step ways to defeat Satan on a daily basis in the book.
She shares the importance of intimacy with God and submitting to Him in all things. (I love how Susan breaks down the word submit. It was an awesome ‘aha’ moment for me.) And as we get closer to God and have a stronger knowledge of His word, we have access to His power. It’s that power that allows us to defeat evil.
At the same time, Susan addresses the lies we have come to believe about ourselves that open us up for Satan to use against us. She reminds us to expect tests. To be prepared.
We truly do need to clothe ourselves so that we aren’t naked and exposed to the evil all around us.
I appreciate that the book offers a few reflection questions at the end of each chapter. The questions help you to slow down and truly take in and absorb the information that Susan presents.
I really found this to be a great book and a must read for all Christians. We have to be aware of Satan’s plan so that we can adequately prepare and protect ourselves.
Make sure you check out the book!

Sounds like an encouraging book to remind us of our need to be aware of Satan’s tactics and learn to rely on God as we grow in our relationship with him. We know that God is over all and is faithful. He has promised to be with us through every trial giving us grace and strength.
Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at the #SundayThoughtsLinkup.
